Kids, no need to fear, we just got Santa fixed up for his run this year!

Even Santa Claus runs into the occasional snafu! Too many cookies post last Dec. 25th have lead to a nasty abscess and a non-restorable tooth #14 for ole Saint Nick. Never Fear. Byars Dental, the *official dentist of Santa Claus, (*-non official, official dentist) has come to the rescue so that your friend and mine can make it out on his route this year. Shortly after Jan. 1st, when his insurance benefit rolls over, he will return to us for an implant and crown. Have a Happy Holiday Season!

TeamSmile 09 with the Kansas City Chiefs

We spent the day Saturday, November 21st at the Arrowhead Pavillion participating in TeamSmile 09 with the Kansas City Chiefs. We treated approximately 150 children and a great time was had by all! This is a picture of Dr. Byars with Chiefs wide receiver Bobby Wade and Tarrah. Bobby, you have a great looking smile! I bet you were smiling even wider on Sunday after the Chiefs beat the Steelers!

Yikes! No hablo Espanol!

Como se dice, usted tiene enfermedad periodontal y si estuvo ido no tratado, usted podrĂa perder sus dientes? Wow! what does that mean? You have periodontal disease and if left untreated, you could lose your teeth. A difficult thing to tell anyone or hear from someone, especially if there is a language barrier. Recently we were faced with this very dilemma at Byars Dental. Veronica to the rescue! Our dental hygienist Veronica dusted off her spanish skills and made a difficult situation much easier for all! Great job Veronica. We are so happy that you are part of our team.

Scary pink leopard sighting in the Northland!!!

My daughter Daley wanted to be a scary pink leopard for halloween. By the time the trick-or-treaters had arrived, she was pooped out for the night. Oh well, so much for being scary.

Dr. Byars and TeamSmile

Byars Dental has been actively involved in TeamSmile for several years now. This is a group of dental professionals and dental companies that team up with the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals to deliver free dental health care to children right here in our community! The next TeamSmile event is Saturday, November 21st. We anticipate treating 150 children from the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kansas City! This event is sure to bring smiles to the faces of many. Attached are photos from past events including Dr. Byars with former Royals pitcher Steve Busby and with Royals Hall of Famer and National TeamSmile Spokesperson, Willie Wilson. Thank you guys for your involvement with TeamSmile!

Introducing Daley Byars!

Daley Lane Byars was born Friday October 9th at 2:48 p.m. She weighed 6 lbs. and 10 oz. and was 19.5 inches long. We came home from the hospital on Sunday 10/11/09 and everyone is doing great! We couldn't be happier to have such a beautiful daughter!

TeamSmile 09 with the Kansas City Royals

Dr. Byars is involved with "TeamSmile" a non-profit organization of Dentists and dental professionals in the Kansas City area. Each year TeamSmile has paired with the Kansas City Chiefs or the Kansas City Royals to offer free dental screenings cleanings and needed dental care to the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kansas City. This summer we had a great time at Kauffman Stadium with Sluggerrr and several former Royals.
